Finally, a break in the long silence of my absence. I have -slightly- improved my coloring. Now if only the backgrounds could get a little better...
Here's Valant, about as humanized as it gets. Other than that, he hasn't changed much.

Anyway, your shading is really getting a lot better the one thing that I would point out is that the darks aren't consistent, the darks on his chest are darker than the ones on his legs. Since there is more of an angle difference on his legs , the edges of them should actually be darker. Think of it this way, the more shading difference there is, the more "depth" there is. So, his legs look flat compared to the rest of his body.
