It couldn't have been more clearer, boredom was essentially filling in the head of the young royal guard newbie. As if the painstakingly long hours of sitting there and standing still like a mannequin is not enough, that armored hat was a ton of weight over his head.

He made a mental note to himself not to let his moms pick his job ever again. Sweeping that aside, Thunderhead begin to wonder about the many things that are his so called "priorities." A vision of a certain Dracony female flashes through, Asteroid Sparkle Dragon. One tough woman who does not mess around and a total bookworm till the end. She would rather swarm herself with books rather than to find herself a special somepony due to a certain accident. And Celestia knows he knows what that is.

His trance was broken when Derpy swooped and from the broken roof of the castle and gave him a letter before excusing herself. What could this possibly contain? A mental voice nagged in his head. Thunderhead opened the letter and it was a surprise indeed. Asteroid of all ponies wrote to him!

Look, Thunderhead... both you and I know you are not the brightest bulb in the Hearth's Warming Eve tree. The "kind" preface started

She finally lost it and broke down on his shoulder, both mad and sad, all that angst and tough girl front melted away.

From afar, a certain purple pony and her sister in law was watching from the distance. "It seems the plan worked."
