I get the sense that Anna is supposed to be what Ariel would have been if Ariel did not have all of those character flaws - such as the whiney aspect and the whole "not learning from your mistakes aspect" - they are both ditz, but Anna at least she had be fleshed out more than Ariel.

Alright I will give you that - I guess what I am getting at is that she had talent and such a fun personality as a mermaid and she threw that all away to be somewhat annoying human. But that is my point of view.
