The green and blue colors are supposed to be the Kree colors which is why the outfit is that color. By the end of the movie, the colors will most likely switch to the red, gold and blue making her look like the comic version and if will be that way in Avengers 4.

That's literally the criticism the writers got for the failed runs of Captain Marvel last year. And they said that the readers should just stop reading their comic then.
(Which they did... Which is why the runs only were 2-4 issues each)

nice work, but Carol Danvers isn't Captain Marvel, she is Ms. Marvel, and has been for over 30 years. she Debuted with her own series in 1977 as Ms. Marvel, meant to be a counterpart to Captain Marvel who debuted in 1968 as Mar-Vell, a Kree military officer. The name wasn't changed until 2012, not longer after Disney got their claws in Marvel Comics and started messing things up. including feminizing several popular characters. I think the name change has more to do with Disney politics then anything else.
