Hello, I saw this photo inΒ Young Photo Club's Critique 4 Critique journal. This shot is truely eyecatching. Was it made underwater or from outside of Aquarium?

I like those fairy taile colours. Water creatures looks like they are from different world. I like this plain blue background.Β

Thank you. And it was from an aquarium.

llGalexYll [2014-08-17 15:20:56 +0000 UTC]

Found this through Young Photo Club's Critique 4 Critique journal.

I love the colors on this one. They're vivid enough to give the "magical underwater" effect, yet realistic enough to make the image believable. That being said, I think you might want to try desaturating the yellows a tiny bit, because it looks like you're losing details in those areas.

The pose of this jellyfish is lovely as well. It gives the viewer a sense of movement and guides the eye from bottom to top. That tentacle to the right that goes out and back into frame is a little distracting though, so I'd suggest cropping to (or maybe spot-removing) the tip of it that curls back in the shot.

The depth-of-field and high contrast lighting give some noticeable depth to the subject, which I like.

One small thing I do want to point out is that there's a tiny white fleck to the upper-left, between the jellyfish's head and the edge of the frame. That should be a simple job to remove in whatever photo editing program you use, and, although it doesn't distract me from the image at all, removing it would just help clean up everything.

Overall, well done with this shot. Keep shooting.
