Description Battlecruisers were the most common super capital vessel attached to the Exna Fleets. Produced by the NTR Fleetworks in the later centuries of the Dark War, The 'Frozen Echo' was capable of forming a solid wave of direct or indirect fire on targets with its 24 HPVR batteries and 6 Arcbow turrets. Close in weapon systems and terminal defense is delegated to standard 240W/tnr directed energy weapons, feeding off the Frozen Echo's reactors and capacitors for their power requirements.

While lacking any faster than light drive of its own, its hull footprint is slim enough to be tethered externally to FTL transit capable vessels without disrupting their Alcubierre-Weiße bubble. This tethering capability allows it to quickly move with support around operational areas without the need for redeployment on Super Dreadnoughts, or other large FTL capable Super Capitals.

\\\PsiComp Authority Addendum:
<.>
While the purge of Exna fleets has been completed, the vast number of 'Frozen Echos' attached to the traitor Exna Fleet Purity should not be overlooked, nor their firepower be taken lightly. The sheer volume of fire is capable of overwhelming and disabling gravity shields on our vessels, constructed centuries later. As such, exercise due caution when engaging elements of the former Exna Fleet Purity, or as they have taken to calling themselves, the Laughing Swarm.

Do u have any other images of this ship? because it looks great :3

Nah, this is the first sketch of this design. It's similar in design to the Hammer head and Red Horizon. (same manufacturer)

Eventually I'll get around to modeling it, and iterating on the detail a bit.

Some time since I saw some of these "auxiliary vessels"!

This sounds like it for those that need Super Caps on the cheap if they don't have FTL drives.  I like it.

Blimey! Making a seriously formidable fleet of ships here matey

Oh, loving the fin details too Radiators? Radiation Collectors? Or just decorative?

For the most part, I don't do 'decorative' for warships. That would be sort of counter productive, for the human vessel. The fins I think you're referring to (the pattern of 6 up front on each side) are the gravitational shield arrays. They're present in the Hammerhead as well, the destroyer in the description. Smaller fin like details are antennas.

Ahhh yes! I remember that

And I agree - decoration is BS

Everything about this design is excellent, though the hammerhead is my favorite aspect.

Thanks! I think strong design elements, such as the midsection fins, cubic shape, and yes... the hammerhead prow, are needed to make unique spacecraft. Too many ships in scifi settings either look like slabs of metal, flying guns, or hot tangled mess. Simplicity is key, I say, with the details serving to lead the eye.

I certainly agree. Simplicity lends itself well to a feel of practicality and realism, as any successful machinery design will ideally not be made more complicated than it needs to be. I prefer the spacecraft that looks to have launched from the futuristic slipway of an industrial shipyard as opposed to emerging fully-formed from a design studio.

Thanks sir, glad to have your seal of approval.

Judging by the response I'm getting (favorites, if not in comments), I think I might have stumbled upon another good design. :]

Do you use any 3d modeling as a base for these ship paintings?

Daemoria In reply to MC-STEEL [2016-05-24 14:54:57 +0000 UTC]

For these sketches, typically no. If I think the design is actually worth the headache of converting to 3d afterwards, I might do a few more sketches similar to this quality. Right now this is entirely drawn with Photoshop.

Typically these sketches never get shown to public eyes, but I figured I should at least make an effort to appear active.

Why am I not surprised to find out the Swarm has adopted part of Purity for their own purposes?

Well, it's just what happens when you see the entire universe get destroyed by your bosses, and all your friends and co-workers put to the metaphorical (and physical) sword. You tend to change your outlook on existence a little bit.

Thanks man, It's sort of a trade mark of that particular fleetyard. It made a few other ships for the Exna Fleets, the Hammerhead destroyers, and the Red Horizon Battlecarriers.

If you ask the pretty PsiComp lady nicely, you might be able to see the records of those vessels too. Or you can go poking around the archives on your own, but be careful. You might end up learning too much.
