Description "This...can't be real. No, no, no. Nonononono!"
Flickering ghost images of wreckage dance across the blazing 'sky'. Looking down in horror, the surviving Kasparov Shik realizes that she can see even more reflections. Images of what could be, and what are.
Brightly reflecting the future, the Mirror shows all. And there is no escape.

oops, wrong place to be when the ship gates! ...even wronger when you don't know what gating is and never had a mother to tell you things like "if you keep staring at the Mirror, your brain will get stuck like that!"

I gotta save this poor little clone girl. Eventually.

She's fine right there for now though. Time is strange in the Mirror. Ignore the fact this image is 2 years old at this point. :}

This is pretty tame compared to how I actually imagine the Mirror to look. Its very easy to draw something that will hurt the viewers eyes, but doing it while retaining clarity and composition is a bit tougher.

God saves her soul.
I can only pray for her...

There are no Gods here, they have all been consumed by the timeless and perfect formula. Humans have no use for Gods in the universe of their own creation.

So, it's not even like the Warp ?
Damn...
Poor little girl.

May I invite you to read the other comment I did on this page ?
It's a bit below and about the Mirror.

Given the situation, I would think that there would be a lot of potential timelines collapsing into one of--near term death!

If there are a lot of potential futures to look at, maybe she does have a future?

A very bright universe the 'Mirror dimension' is!Β  It would give the impression of being lost in a void where the infinite background is like flickering flame!Β  Another reason why folks might crack up...

I'd like to give it a look.
Even if that means being blind.
To see the future I'd pay this price.

One can only imagine what someone would see in there. The horrors of what is, will be, could be, and have been.

I wonder how her mind hasn't already exploded....

How long does it usually take for someone to go insane in the mirror fields?

Daemoria In reply to goeliath [2014-09-12 19:36:40 +0000 UTC]

Depends on the person (or in this case, the clone), but 10-15 minutes is about average. You might be able to hold out longer if you keep your eyes closed, but every glance you take is another drop of your sanity taken away, forever.

Hmm yes, it would be terrible if they were to be stuck there. I guess you'll just have to see where the series goes.

goeliath In reply to Daemoria [2014-09-12 20:02:46 +0000 UTC]

well. she may return as the all-seeing-all knowing prophet, who can fortell the future, because she was stuck in the void for an eternity, in reality only being 1 second, to lead her people to the promise land...
or her mind will melt.
Take the good, with the bad.

I wonder what kind of effect it would have on somebody who's either very open-minded, highly sceptical of everything, or already certifiably crazy...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Daemoria In reply to kanyiko [2014-09-13 01:02:44 +0000 UTC]

The insane are actually the best off in the Mirror, because they don't entierly comprehend the reality of the futures they see.
Open-minded people would be...well how to put it nicely?
gs1.wac.edgecastcdn.net/8019B6…
Yea, that works.
Same goes for skeptics. You can be as sceptical as you want, but the truth is looking you in the face, there quite literally is no avoiding it.

Best place to be, if you happen to be in the Mirror, is inside a starship with its window shields shuttered closed and all external data feeds cut off.
