That's a bit of a secret, but if you really wish to know ask . He's the one who has helped me with special effects advice on this series, and applied the scan-line effect to the HUD I painted.

Its certainly good that one one can trace the station drop back to its origin (especially with the telemetry aboard the Mimic now gone)... the Laughing Swarm are certainly not happy that they lost one of the two Mimics deployed to this frame of reference.

Yeah, they could. But were were too late and had too few people to stop it. We REALLY tried, but the mines that the SSICC had places had halted most of our ships from advancing. and our firepower certainly wasn't enough to stop it. Not enough ships, not enough time, and not enough firepower.. Wasn't our fault.

...The next time the Laughing Swarm goes to have a bit of RnR, I think they'll bring something a bit heavier than a support frigate, to stop shenanigans like this from happening again.

This is just a freeze frame, the gate is only open for a blink (even less actually) of an eye.
View is from the Laughing Swarm drop ship that took the rest of the crew to the surface, maybe? It's got their language, and all other electronics have been wiped out by the EMP detonation in the high atmosphere.
