I made this for the Key Visual Arts club! woot! I'll submit it later along with my other recents. :3x3 So I was trying to write a paper due in three weeks, and I kept getting a mind block. So i wanted to do something productive or entertaining. I made this. And I'm very proud of the result.
Vector it tough, but it looks like I've got the hang of it.
This is a wallpaper. I've also got the vector render I made as well if anybody is interested in a vector of Mai Transparency.
I changed her clothes from the original picture. I always thought Mai would wear something yellow in her free time.
Liek a yellow collared shirt button up with a white tee underneath.
I plan to illustrate something like that in the future. I think it'd be great modern concept.
Mai Kawasumi is from Kanon owned by Key.

First I use black pen too and out line the black, filling it up with like a black void.
Then I do the whites of the eyes and send it behind the black using the slection tool, with a feather fill of three of white.
Then I copy the basic shape of the original iris with green
Feather 2 and fill it in with mai's eyecolor.
then I make the shine in her eyes with pen tool, but I lower the liteness and make it a bit gray over the green.
then I simply outline apporoximately the shapes of the shine and highlights in her eyes and used feather of 4 to give it the right touch.
And viola, anime eyes.

vectoring usually takes 5 + hours when you do soemthing like this.
But there is one benefit: it's like making your own unique render.
So I may use Mai in some sigs and iconz. ;D

Damit, forgot them.
It's too late for me to put them back. I already tried, it was 12:00 at night and i was like, ZOMG I forgot the eyebrows....
I might redo them. :shurg. But this took me forever.
I need to resize the original to match the vector because I deleted them.
Do you think I should go for it?
