Description
8th century BC Jewish king and prophet.

Based on Shalmaneser III's black Obelisk, especially side B where the captive king of Israel Jehu is presented before the Assyrian king along with his retinue.

I used a H pencil to lightly sketch the background, the specifications were for the focus to be placed on the characters and have no line art for the background, so I painted over the light sketch with the alcohol markers as if I was using watercolours, layering the lighter colours first and moving to the darkest ones for the last.
