These women are three of the many reasons why I adore Star Trek - Discovery.L'Rell, Katrina Cornwell, Philippa Georgiou
The painting could have been better (cleaned and stuff), but my son's gotten sick and my day was a mess. And since I wanted it to upload to greet tonight's episode, it has to go like this.

This is the status quo before my son got sick. That's why I uploaded it like this. I couldn't do any of the clean ups I had scheduled for yesterday. (in higher res you could see the still very coarse brush strokes especially on the admiral's uniform. Only the metallic vest was done properly at that point)

Wow, I'm loving the coloring on Cornwell's uniform here: you've managed to capture the texture of the fabric so nicely with a subtle use of lighting! Matte, yet ever so slightly sheeny. I'm especially captivated by the thighs and those 'under arm' highlights on her sides, that give her figure depth : )

They are so amazing! The theme definitely comes across strongly and wow, Georgiou's collar looks hyper-realistic. Hope your son gets well soon!

Thank you very much. I so love that they have those roles on Discovery. Two of those ladies are in their 50ies and they are so awesome and have so powerful roles. This gives me so much hope for the represenation of women.
