Been away from digital art for a while due to circumstances. I'm slowly trying to return, starting with a new painting of Dash. It's mostly done in my natural style, which is slowly evolving to incorporate more tools and techniques. They allow for greater efficiency as well as trying out some new things with for example the hair.Created with Gimp and Wacom Bamboo tablet.

Rainbow Dash: Whoa! I don't like the look of those clouds. I better hurry up before the storm begins or I'll get to the library all wet. I'm halfway anyway so no way I can't make it before the rain falls.

Twilight: Ah? I thought the rain was supposed to fall in an hour. What's going on- *knocks at the door* Huh? Who could be foolish enough to get out at this kind of.... Rainbow Dash?
Rainbow Dash came in.
RD: Hi, Twi.
T: My Celestia, what happened?
RD: I got caugh into the storm, that's what happened! I don't get it. It was supposed to rain in an hour from now.
T: I thought the same. Wait! Did you passed over the Everfree Forest?
RD: No, I.... Wait! Where?
T: Over the Everfree Forest.... You know.... where pegasi can't control the clouds?
RD: No way! I knew that already and...
T: *raised an eyebrow*
RD: ... I took a shortcut and entered a black cloud. Then it began to pour. Happy?
T: That explains it. And I'm sure you're already punished enough. *giggle*
RD: Yeah. Give me towel.
Awesome work. We can't deny how is fun to draw this wonderful pegasus with her color scheme

I am impressed by your ability to consistently create good and interesting works of art using only GIMP. I have never been able to use GIMP to accomplish anything substantial. The interface turns me away every time.

Funny how I find that hard to imagine, as to me it makes complete sense. Then again I learnt almost everything I know about digital art in GIMP.

I tried to learn on GIMP, but gave up in utter frustration. Then I torrented Photoshop and learned all I know about digital art on that. Now that I have a job, I'm paying for Photoshop and I continue to use it for all my digital art.
There are some very basic functions, like changing a brush's size, shape, or flow rate, that I simply could not figure out how to do in GIMP.

Something about this piece gives me the eerie Β feeling of actually being in the air with the clouds. Not many images can do that, so kudos. I recommend using that to greater potential, try a point of view that captures much more scene and have your subject placed within its depths.

The blue of her fur is a little dark, but that is probably due to the dark sky. Anyhow, Very good!!
