very touching - the 'depression' story behind is giving a whole other meaning to it!

okay so the rabbit here is having depression, and it is been taken over by it/ it has possed the rabbit in some way? (as i can see at one part of her fur which is turning grey like the dog,it gives the illusion it will work its way upwards and die out all color slowly) is that right?

The Hare is the friend ( a fellow student at college on my course) with whom I had the discussion about how depression felt. I based the colour of the Hare on her hair, she dyes it a mixture of deep reds, orange and bright yellow.
The depression, we agreed comes from within us. We are both the Hare and the Black Dog. (The Hare has her eyes, they are a bright green and so is the dog's)
She drew the dog after I had done the Hare. Then the picture was given back to me to finish and link the two together. I used the idea of similar tattoos as she has a number of personal tattoos herself,
The picture was done as her birthday present.... so she can now "own" the Black Dog .
