Great detail in this. As I don't believe in the rule of thirds, I feel no need for some cropping. XD

The slight crop I did make helped to bring his head into a better spot in the frame, and it also helped give a better look at his teeth, and I more often than not just follow my own rules if circumstances don't allow me to get a shot exactly as I want it.

Well mission accomplished because this is really good. I stand corrected.Β  *Also, I DO believe in the rule of thirds(art classes taken) but I find it doesn't ALWAYS give the best end photo. I might just be lazy though, ha. Sad considering I went to school for graphics and photo manipulation. -_-

Great focus but again you may want to crop it so the croc's head is either on the upper or lower third, depending on if you want to keep that floating leaf or the branch reflections in the pic.

Made a slight crop to bring Baru's head into better focus, and it even gives a better glimpse of his teeth as well. It was definitely easier to frame shots withΒ my Rebel T4i, and I actively tried to follow the rule of thirds as much as I could do given the lenses I have and also keeping other zoo visitors in mind as well. Almost all of my pictures are shot through my viewfinder which does not have 100% view, and it sometimes accidentally cuts off part of an animal when I didn't mean too like what happened in one of my photos of a crested basilisk that was perfectly focused but the head got taken off.Β LCD screen certainly helps with composing. Composing something if Baru ever came on land wouldn't be too difficult, and I'd be giving much emphasis on his size since he's the biggest crocodile in all of North America.

He's been coming out of the water in daylight hours more often over the past three to four weeks,Β  and with that in mind, I should be able to get my own full body out of water photos of Baru during my next series of visits this year.
