However, Capcom has always insisted that, despite being boxers with similar names and designs, they were two different characters. TheΒ Street Fighter World Warrior Encyclopedia Β (hardcover version) also lists them as separate individuals[3] Β as does theΒ Street Fighter VΒ website, which has a separate character page for Mike with redesigned artwork for him.[1]

OK, this is the thing: M. Bison is a homage to Mike Tyson, but before him, CAPCOM already made a first "experiment" with this Mike character. Bison/Balrog is a better version of Tyson, being more reminiscent to the actual boxer than Mike from SF1.
