Oh, I really like this one... I've the impression to be in Greece in the Ancient world...
I also like the impression that the subjet is moving, that a circle takes us in this movement, but also let us outside, like spectators...

I like dreaming... it's linked to imagination I think!
If you find a time-machine, take me with you!
I want to meet the great philosophers! ... but I have to improve may knowledge in Ancient Greek! :s

I will surely take you with me!But I should learn ancient Greek first anyway we ll find a way to meet Socrates and Plato..
Imagination is one of the greatest gift to a human, without it we still be in the stone age.All began from a dream!

Is Ancient Greek so different of modern Greek?
Yes! And also Demosthene, Pericles, and their "friends"

Yes, and dreams are really powerful in order to archieve something!

daisukekuroneko In reply to Lady-Chat-Earlgrey [2010-08-24 12:27:12 +0000 UTC]

Yes they are very different, even a Greek cant understand their meaning
Oh so many philoshophers! Ah imagine the scenery, talking a walk with Socrates into Athens ancient market "Agora" as it was said (in fact we still use this word for the market)

I totally agree with you!

Wow! Thanks to my years of latino (and because French is teinted with this language), I can understand a bit Italian... so it's really different!

Oh, it would be great! ... and Diogene would be screaming and making troubles, citizens would be speaking of laws protecting democracy... gods would be here... (I'm really dreaming! )

I can read ancient Greek but I dont know the meaning of every word, ancient Greek is a very rich language and one word could stand for a whole phrase! It needs a lot of carefull study. I just wish I had a good teacher back then
Hahah!Diogenes.. always a teaser of the ethics of wealthy athenians...
Imagine the smells of the market (the nice ones) local fruits and vegetables, fresh fish, breads. Expensive perfumes from the east, fine fabrics from egypt.. oh and temples of Gods all around, lets go and make a wine offering to them!
I love this..

Lady-Chat-Earlgrey In reply to daisukekuroneko [2010-08-31 14:45:50 +0000 UTC]

Oh yes, ancient Greek is really rich! I wish I had not to give up!
But as student of German, I had to give up classic languages (Latino and Greek :s)...
Thanks for the detail ("the nice ones")!
You make me travel
And imagine the harbour with the smells of the sea, the great ships bringing men and women of different origins...
Imagine the different spoken languages, their stories about their last travel...
Imagine children, who are playing around, as amazed as we are... imagine also you are in front of the great walls between the 'Pirée' (I don't know the English word) and Athen, and the stormy sea, far, far away...

daisukekuroneko In reply to Lady-Chat-Earlgrey [2010-09-01 09:14:47 +0000 UTC]

Well you couldnt do it all at once! I mean German is a difficult language that needs time and concentration.
You too make my mind travel so many great images you give me, Its like I can hear all the harbour noise and watch all those people around me. The breeze of the stormy sea, the salt in the air and the cloudy sky..its fantastic!
thank you for the travel...
Oh the english word is Pireaus, our (dirty) port

Lady-Chat-Earlgrey In reply to daisukekuroneko [2010-09-01 11:28:21 +0000 UTC]

Oh, I understand the Alsacian language, which is a derivation of german, so there are less difficulties as usual.. Do you speak german?

Thanks for the "Pireaus"! Is it still the most important port in Athen? Or is it just for history, and the real modern port is in another place?

You're welcome... and now imagine you're in an Athenian house. You're invited and you wear a white dress... and Esope or Socrate are also there... You can see the pictures on the walls, water sings in the yard, and slaves dance or bring exotic meals...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

daisukekuroneko In reply to Lady-Chat-Earlgrey [2010-09-01 13:32:47 +0000 UTC]

Oh I see, it is a German dialect. No I dont speak German, so you speak English & Alsacian apart from French, and you stydied ancient Greek and Latin! Im really impressed!
Piraeus remains our top port with a lot of traffic around it!!!And noise!

By the name of Apollo, how could you begin a converstation with Socrates? And Esope will he speaks of tales? And those slaves keep bringing wine-I think I drank too much!
I should go and take some fresh air in the yard right next to the autel (isnt that how you say altair?) of Hestia. And then I see you, starting to dancing like a nymph with flowers in your hair and a beautiful etherial dress, you managed to make the philosophers stop their talking and look at you...

we could write a novel you know!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Lady-Chat-Earlgrey In reply to daisukekuroneko [2010-09-01 17:05:37 +0000 UTC]

Yes, it is. I understand Alsacian but I speak it very badly, it always ends in German :s
Oh, you don't have to be impressed, I made a lot of mistakes!!! In English :s
I love languages, that explains why I studied them...

I would not have to begin! He keeps asking questions!!! (The wine perhaps explains why he's always speaking... )
Esope would tease his master because he's cleverer, and show to us some reality through tales... why not?
(yes, autel= altair)
Oh, I certainly drank too much too! And you are singing some oriental prayers to Hestia, your voice is pure, and looks like the song of a bird, It is launching new conversations between the philosophs about the syncrisis of the eastern and western worlds...

Oh yes, and what a novel!

haha!i like your humor
we all make mistakes, mistakes exist so we can learn through them
I always wanted to study japanese but I never had the chance, maybe when I ll have the money I ll do it . Its very nice that you like languages, you seem to be a person that is eager to learn new things and that is very positive.

Really you dont want to hear me singing!haha!I bet I could make everyone to leave from this philosophical..party! So instead of me singing we would listen to a singer that comes from..egypt?
Yes and he brought his female dancers with him, now they start to dance and Esope comes and sit next to us and talks about the similarities of the two civilizations. A young boy brings a large plate with grapes & figs and its a very hot night and the perfume of the night flowers is so heavy..

It could be the next best seller..hahah!

Lady-Chat-Earlgrey In reply to daisukekuroneko [2010-09-01 20:29:26 +0000 UTC]

I agree with you concerning mistakes! but they have to be corrected to teach us!
Japan always used to be far away for me... but I want to discover the country, it's cities but above all the mountains...
Why can't you learn it? In France, there are many possibilities to discover languages... cultural associations, high schools, universities, and "people universities" (it's a kind of associations which teaches a lot of things for adults at low cost). What does your name on DeviantArt mean?

And you want to see me dancing? I'm a catastrophe...
Egypt, why not??? A son of Pharao, I hope...
Sophocle is sleeping and spoking during his dreams... we have difficulty to understand his words, besides he's speaking about something totally new...
It's too hot for me... I go out, and sit next to the singing water... Far away I hear songs, and voices... The stone is still warm, because the day was so sunny...I could fall in Morpheus' arms, but a messager enters...

Yes, it WILL be the next best seller!! Far better than Harry Potter and the Lord of the Rings, or the others ^^

Sophocles talks about the Demon in his sleep...The Demon (little God) we all have inside us.
I can see you lying on the stone, you are very tired but the messenger is (thats a difficult one, I must think about it...)

It's sad for the lessons, I think we have much chance in France!
Thank you for the explanations
Do you have a black cat, or just like black cats?

So we can change... you dance and I sing, I'm not the best singer in the world, but it wouldn't more horrible than if I were dancing!

Mhmm, this man is not ugly!

And you are frightened, he has an important news... Sparta is going to attack Athens, which isn't ready...!

I love black cats (and all cats) I have a cat, you can see him here [link] his color is more like the color of the smoke

Ok now we found our places in the singing and dance, and the messenger brings the bad news in the symposium, Alcibiades enters the scene!hahah!! he is drank but very handsome man...
