I can't even begin to explain how much I hate this new "Skylanders" Spyro. It doesn't look anything like him. At all. Plus, You buy a $70.00 game with three starter toys and there's 30+ toys to buy to play the game. If that doesn't spell it out for you, the word is "Money Ploy".They claim it's like the old Spyro; old Spyro didn't have shitty characters like "trigger happy" and Spyro didn't look like a Failed Experiment from Lilo and Stitch. Activision can go suck a dragon dick. :/

Yea, that's about the size of it. But that still doesn't mean the game is going to be bad at all. True it will be much different from the classic and the Legend of Spyro. Besides, to me that isn't Spyro at all, but the son of Spyro and Cynder, or Spyro Jr. if you prefer. That's what he is to me anyway. I personally don't care for his red eyes because they make him look like a bloodthirsty monster, but I do like the speckled scales because they remind me of battle scars from his previous incarnations. Plus haven't you noticed how much smaller he is compared to classic Spyro, which was supposedly the smallest of his previous incarnations?
I'm not one to judge a book by it's cover, I'm going to give this game a try when it comes out, and then I'll say whether or not I like it or not, and nobody can make me change my mind in the matter. At least Spyro still looks somewhat like a dragon, yea I agree though, Activision could have done so much better if they only tried, but they didn't because they're only focused on making money just like you said. Since I only recently got into the Spyro craze with Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon, I didn't have the same reaction as many of the fan boys and girls did. I also enjoyed the Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night (I hope to play the rest of the trilogy soon, my favorite incarnation of Spyro is still is teenage incarnation from Dawn of the Dragon)
I really think the flame wars really needs to stop because it's completely pointless, however I can still respect your opinion. I hope you show me the same courtesy. I'm gonna give this new Spyro a chance, even if you won't.

Thank you for respecting my opinion sir, I respect yours as well. I have grown up with the classic Spyro; I was a hardcore fan of the classical version and so has a good friend of mine; Basically it's just really aggravating for us to see our childhood icon changed for what could possibly be just so Activision can make money without even trying.
Do play the game though, I hope it will be decent.

We'll I'll keep you posted. I'm not too crazy about the figure-collecting gimmick because the figures often get lost, stepped on, or chewed up by pets, younger siblings, or infants. I've always been a little skittish around that kind of gimmick anyway because of that reason. I do agree though, I think I would feel the same way if a company other than Sega did that to Sonic just so they could make money (and I shudder at the thought because I grew up with Sonic and Mario)
