When Haley regained consciousness after the fall, she noticed what looked like a hermit crab on her stomach. But it didn't have a shell for a house; it had a human skull! Haley screamed and ran towards me. I called the creature a Skull Hermit.

Large relatives of hermit crabs, these curious animals are scavengers feeding on whatever rotting meat they find next. They are known to wear various animal skulls and other bones on themselves for shelter (only if they can support the weight of the bone). Most widely used were human skulls. It was a really freaky sight; but not as freaky and unexpected as the help we were about to get...
