Here it is! You guys asked for it and now I'm giving it to you! Here is my first ever icon set made exclusively for the Windows 8/8.1 Start Screen!!
The set is based off of my Metro UI Icon Set 
THIS SET CURRENTLY INCLUDES 616 512x512 Metro Tiles for today's top applications, internet browsers, Operating Systems/system icons, 1-5 alternative icons for the top websites, AND MORE!
To put these tiles on the Start Screen on Windows 8, click here to download OblyTile! OblyTile is necessary for you to change tiles until Windows 8.1 is out! 
Thank you all for being so patient as I get this done, was a bit of work but the result is well-worth it!

A. These are JUST IMAGES so you can use these any way you want. If you want to use them for system icons, then my .ICO's are needed and you need to use StarDock IconPackager or IconTweaker.

I like the modern look it has a clean look to it. The clean look also provide a sophisticated look and is easy on the eye. I prefer this Tile set and recommend it ,because it blends in well with the original windows 8 tiles and does not appear distorted. The clean look also improves the usability of windows with the ability to add your favorite apps to a appropriate tile reducing loading time from hiding your hideous icons from the start screen. Overall i would recommend this tile set above any else ,because it just feels right and well done!

I'm aware of the the logo change, it changed a year or two ago. However, I'm currently no longer updating this icon set.

oh the McAfee also is a shield icon. easy to mistake well its just a shield with a "M"

I love these icons! The only thing is that the original icons made by Microsoft have a slight gradient. Maybe you could implement that in an update to this pack. But other than that, very nice work!

And the time required for each icon varies depending on design, shape, detail, and other things. Most don't take long, just a few minutes perhaps? 10-45 minutes

Maybe, but I'm currently not working on any Metro UI set, sorry. Right now I'm working on the Flat Colors Icon Set.. and I have already made an icon for AutoDesk Autocad and just about every other major AutoDesk app!
It's a lot of work to get them done and the best quality I can get them. I'll try and get them done soon!

If you're wanting to download the set there should be a button on the top-left of the page that says "Download" with a green arrow next to it, click it and you can save all of them on your computer.

Thanks! But yea, most android/iOS apps aren't available on most platforms, plus there are a ton of apps to worry about. Plus it's a lot more work than you may think to make them and get them posted, synced, etc.

Can I ask you how to make seperators inbetween the icons, because the trash can looks way to far away and i wanna sepearte the music from the rest of the icons

Umm, I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean how to add separators to the Windows 8 Start Screen or add separators to a dock such as ObjectDock or RocketDock?
