HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!!!!!! excuse me a for moment while i struggle to string together a meaningful monologue here. this prince among men--this glorious bastard-- is one of the most inspirational people i have had the delight to come to know through dA. not only is his art unique and quirky, extremely well-done, detailed, clean (in a technical sense ), alternately hilariously ludicrous and tremendously epic (and sometimes both), and just downright FUN to see, but he himself is also outrageously funny to talk to, brilliant in his field, extremely articulate, helpful, approachable, exceedingly encouraging, and more generous than the goddamn santa clause. if you've never seen his art, you should see it. if you've never ended up in 20 simultaneous fascinating conversations with no end in sight to any of them with him, you are missing out. if you're not his friend, you should be. he takes better care of his dA friends than all the rest of us put together take care of ours, and i'm not just talking about the endless free requests and gifts he hands out like they're going out of fashion. he listens. he cheers you up. he encourages. he supports. insert bra joke here. insert "insert here" joke here. insert more G into your life. all innuendos intended. but seriously, can we all please just give a standing ovation for the most amazing man to ever come out of australia, barring hugh jackman. and even hugh would stand up for him. though it would probably be to tell him to leave the room due to that restraining order.
happy brithday, man. i mean it with all my heart. i'm glad the universe saw fit to keep you here with us for another year, and i hope it continues to bless us with your presence for more.
if it wasn't the middle of the week, i would drink to your health (because it seems the most appropriate thing to do XD)okay enough ~FEELINGS~

Ok, first thing's first: YOU ARE INSANE!!!!! In the best sense of the word. This is freaking ridiculously amazing. I can't say enough about how great this is.

I want to spend waaaaaay more time praising this but I'm in the midst of like a jillion deviations and I'm sure by now I sound like a blathering idiot....so, just know that I think this is one of your best pieces (and btw, your art gets more incredible every time I see it...seriously, you've improved tenfold from when I first checked out your gallery, and that's saying something cuz you were pretty damn good to start with) and I love it.

the secret is that i DIDN'T draw them all and then color the entire thing. not in that order. i skipped around between sketching, inking, coloring, and futzing with things like font a LOT so that i wouldn't get too bored or frustrated with any one aspect

Do I really need to say how awesome this is? Though, I do have to wonder where Lord Lazarus' sword ended up. Still, great job, considering Lord Lazarus doesn't have a finalized ref pic yet. And all the characters I can actually identify look great too.

i actually concieved this cover to be a bit of a bait-and-switch. full of characters and events that don't end up in the actual comic at all
i take no credit for the poses. they were all referenced from the original cover. but thanks about the hood and scary!
