I found this female beetle eating pollen while mating. At least he bought her dinner...
Tech Specs: Canon 70D (F11, 1/250, ISO 100) + a Canon MP-E 65mm macro lens (5x) + a diffused MT-24EX. This is a single, uncropped, frame taken hand held.
Technique: I couldn't get a frame with both the male and the female's eyes in focus (they were too far apart and at an odd angle) so I cranked up the magnification and took a portrait. Always look for another composition if your first idea doesn't work.

Wow, don't think I've ever seen pollen so clearly.
Now I'm curious as to why male Bee's can't collect pollen? does it fly off when they're in flight?

No, they simply do not collect it. Most female bees have a "pollen basket" -a special indent or hook on their hind legs that acts as an anchor for pollen. In addition the female will wet the pollen down with nectar to make it sticky. You can see it really well in this shot:

I've nver been sure if the pollen acutally look like they are shown in movies. Like small yellowish balls. But THEY DO. Oh wow, now my view is widden.

Absolutely beautiful. I don't know about photography so I can't cnc unfortunately, but the colour scheme is very eye pleasing.
