Description
Shot at five times life size with a Canon MPE-65mm macro lens.This species of Carpenter Ant is huge (up to 12mm long) and I like to shoot them because I can make them look big in the frame.

Not sure about the scientific name, but the common name is Carpenter Ant. They like to burrow in dead wood.
