Description Incredible the way that a crab spider can blend in with the flower that it's hunting from...

Tech specs: Canon 40D (F13, 1/250, ISO 100) + a Canon MPE-65mm macro lens (@3x) + a diffused MT-24EX macro twin flash (-2/3 FEC). I took this shot today -has to be at least 17C outside if not warmer.

it would be very cool if u could take a video of the fly got eaten completely. It would be National Geography quality like the video below in HD.

Spiders really don't "eat" their prey -they kinda drink the victim like a protein shake and there's no movement. So a video of a spider feeding would actually be pretty boring.

IMHO, although it's good, that video is a long way from being National Geographic quality. The light in almost every scene is harsh, and the composition is poor. You can't ignore proper photographic discipline when shooting video...

Brilliant photo, When I received the deviation notice in my inbox and looked at the thumbnail I thought "Why would Dalantech have a photo of bug crawling into a flower? Doesn't seems up to the usual standard" but I clicked on it anyway, only to realize that is was no flower, but a spider!

Don't feel bad -the bug didn't see the spider either...

lol, I can be grateful there isn't such severe consequences for mistaking a spider for a flower as a human!

Beautiful.
Misumena vatia. Interesting spider. I read that it may be yellow or white, depending on the flower in which they is hunting.
