I don't know of the composition works, but I like the way a dragonfly's eyes look and they make a great torture test for the flash.A Violet Darter early in the morning.
Tech specs: Canon 40D (F13, 1/250, ISO 100) + an MPE-65mm macro lens (@ close to 3x) + a diffused MT-24EX (-2/3 FEC).

I agree. I love the way the eyes look, but I find the composition a bit distracting. Im no pro, but I think it needs a little more space around the eyes, especially at the top. Just my 2 cents
