I can see more detail in each picture you do man. I think adding an overlay with some crisper lines will help it to stand out more.

yeh i have 3 saved versions of my process of it, and at one time it was all pretty much neat and tidy but then it looked dead and static which is my main problem. aarrgghhhh its frustrating, cant wait for the day i figure it out or i just level up

Look at those videos of when they paint layer by layer and add details and shit on top. Might give you some insight or inspiration to level up!

yeh i do that already, the only thing is though is the more layers you use the slower photoshop gets and im trying to get faster as i get better so i can only use a few layers then i have to compress them and then restart :S i think the problem is that i dont know when to stop i want it to be neat and painterly but painterly isnt neat so i think its just a matter of telling myself to stop fiddling with stuff
