Wonderful! This is exactly how I pictured her, and you've shown the Azure magic flowing out of her perfectly.

Hmm.
That kilt looks rather celtic,, but her torso-guard is clearly non-celtic; and the whole thing has a european general shape but an asiatic texture and detail.
It appears that The Last Samurai is not your only source for armor.
Whatever else has influenced you, it's good.
So, five out of five hats for a well-designed armor. Good work not just simply copying a samurai armor or a european plate mail armor.
So, just out of curiosity, how tall, relatively, do you think Miko is? Is she shorter than average? Taller than average? How tall is she compared to Roy, do you think?
I wish there was another person in this image for comparison, so I could get a better sense of scale and proportion; but other than that, this is very good.

Agreed - it's what inspired me to do this piece. Loved her character... but it was a fitting conclusion as well - she stuck to her guns to the end.

beautiful rendering of one of my favourite scene on oots (it'd be really dramatic if it's a movie or a tv series). It must took hours to draw that armor.

It was quite time consuming! I must have watched The Last Samurai two or three times while doing this... pausing to make sketches and understand the design of the armour... I've always loved samurai armour so it was actually quite fun. Thanks for the comment Fri-Freeman!

Awesome
Though it does change the character a bit seeing as even in the end, she refused to realise she had lost everything from her own actions.
But I prefer this version, that actually makes her say, even if for a moment, "what did I do?"

this one is about 12 different types of awesome. i wish you would do more OOTS fan art. Like Lord Hinjo or belkar's sexy shoeless god of war scene. Those would be awesome. Great art, as always.

I always hoped that she would turn a leaf at the end... but ultimately, I like that she didn't. Characters are more believable if they're fallible. Funny that I appreciate believable characters in a stick-figure web comic!

Very minor nitpick, her hips seem to be shifted to her right slightly more than natural. To me at least, it seems to make her spine look crooked in the hip area.
Still, a very good image. I think you did very well on the armor.

Yes, I see what you mean. I might redo this at some point in the future since I like the armour but I don't care about the colouring. I've learned a bit since then so I think I could do better... if I do come back to it, I'll fix the spine! Thanks for the comment.

Ha ha! Yeah, I wanted her skin to be in stark contrast to the grey of her fallen armour, to help emphasize the fact that all colour drained from her costume...
I knew someone would notice the fact that her blade was neatly tucked in her scabbard instead of lying on the ground... nice

Well what do you know. You're right - her cloak and boots are definitely tan, tho her armour is grey. I suppose my version of her is a bit meatier than the OOTS Miko so I guess I won't worry about it now. ^_^ Cheers, and thanks for the comments!
