For reasons even the best scientific minds cannot explain, the USS Enterprise has been transported outside our galaxy. She finds herself hovering over a very hostile little planet called Mustafar. This planet is suspended between the gravitational fields of two gas giants called Jestefad and Lefrani. Their competing gravimetric forces cause vast amounts of tidal friction within Mustafar's core, causing the planet's volcanoes to constantly erupt and reshape its surface.
