Time to introduce one of my OCs that has existed in my head for so long but never got to draw him: Vall

He's Nevisca's mate and the father of her foals. Vall knows her better than anyone else and with time he had learned to control her temper and calm her down when she's nervous, angry and stressed. He has a charming and charismatic personality that works very well when solving conflicts, and this combined with Nevisca's analytical capabilities and objective thinking makes them a very good team in their ruling role.
The older generati horses in Navaruh's Plains have challenged the traditional social groups of a stallion with an harem to be able to form much larger herds that gave a better protection against predators, and a bigger control over their territories. In order to avoid conflicts among them, every horse's social role must be inherited from their parents, therefore monogamy was implementes as a form of life for them.
But do these imposed social arrangements that go totally against a horse's nature really help them progress as a specie, or only creates repressed individuals who have no control over their own destiny?

Aah, it feels so good to do some personal art again. This was supposed to be a fast painting but ended up taking 2 hours, mainly because I couldn't get their standing poses right and had to look for a few references.
