Everyone has said it already, damn fine work. I was a sophomore in high school when the crossover came out.

Great work! It must difficult to subdue your own style for someone else's -- especially a great like Walt Simonson-- but this looks simply stunning.

Oh yeah, the challenge is to try to emulate the original style - especially when using completely different tools! It's also great practice and helps me hone my own technique.
Thanks!

I remember being fascinated with (studying) these foreshortened running legs.

Also, I know why Kid Flash looks so pissed on this cover - he's SO tired of running in slow motion just so he stays on the cover shot with everyone else!

It seemed like magic how they work and still come across as a few simple lines. I still struggle a lot with that!

I remember this...............................was a massive crossover of two very popular teams. Probably the best combinations of the time too.............Walt Simonson and Terry Austin. Actually, come to think of it Terry Austin was one of the best inkers of all time. I always thought he took everyone's work up a notch or two. Well done.

Yeah, he really worked well on guys like Simonson and Byrne, where the line was kind of thin and scratchy. A worthy heir to Dick Giordano.
I tend towards more fluid inking like Sinnott or Palmer these days... Austin's a tough one for me to replicate!

Yeah, I"m a fan of Palmer. I think......if I"m not mistaken worked on the Star Wars series and The Avengers too. Simonson and Byrne are two of my favorite artists. I ahve loved pretty much everything they have done. Along with Richard Corben and Carmine Infantino.

Thanks! Yeah, I was so disappointed when the JLA/Avengers followup fell through, too!

My pleasure ... wait! I thought they did the JLA/Avengers. I seem to remember reading that one a few months ago.

Oh, I agree. I remember feeling about the same about the X-Men/Teen Titans, but this was far, far longer. I remember being asked about this by a few friends who thought I kept up with the history of such matters. I told them that since I didn't log into the internet until the late 1990s, but also pretty much was depressed and forlorn for a good deal longer, it would be about another decade before I returned to it.
