Name: Sonya Rujin
Race: Longclaw Shifter
Class: Monk
Background: Outlander
"Sonya wandered the roads to face injustice among the poor, helpless, and weak. She showed no mercy to her foes using various weapons she practiced during her travels. Sonya refused to admit weakness as her claws and heart grew caliche over time. Except for one for when she was found by a traveling monk during his pilgrimage. She was left abandoned at a shrine altar wrapped in a blanket as tribute of the spirits of the misty valley. When she was capable of speech, the monk taught her the teachings of his ways. When she could walk, he trained her in martials arts and focusing her Ki. Though Sonya was a carefree spirit, her body was agile and her reflexes were quicker then any student he trained. He noticed her shifter features made her powerful, yet her mind was still unfocused. Sonya would sneak out of the rooms to wander around the local villages and bamboo forest during the late evenings. She was lightly scolded for her actions, until she began to realize of her natural gifts. During one night, she changed into a cougar and scared a few traveling merchants on the road. When she return to their quarters, her master started to lecture her seriously. Sonya was becoming a young woman at this time, and saw her sensei as a coddling old man. Even during their sparing matches did she realize how much weaker he become losing her faith in his teachings. Until one night, she heard rumors by a local villagers of a group of bandits harassing their village. Sonya wished to help the villagers but her sensei refused to get involved. They got into an argument, and he warned her that she must have balance with her mind and body to maintain her true spirit. She refused to take those word to heart, and ventured off again into the woods. She discovered their campsite and snuck around in the shadows. Sonya believed she could bring them to justice to prove she was capable of prowess. She rushed in and faced them off one by one, using her techniques to subdue them. They were no match for her as she started to become over confident. When one bolt hit her shoulder as she snapped around in anger. Her feral eyes glared at the young shaking bandit holding the crossbow. She instinctively turn into a cougar and pounced on him to the ground. She only saw him as prey at that moment and attempt to kill him there when he pleaded for mercy. Before the final blow of her claw was struck did her sensei call out to intervene. Sonya reverted back to her normal self letting go of the bandit as her master confronted her reckless actions. She stood up for herself believing she was serving justice and called him a coward for using their abilities to actually saving people. He called her a foolish child and would stop her. She faced off against him, when she quickly learned that he was holding back this entire time. He easily could have killed her, but he stepped away leaving her completely defeated. It was when her sensei had decided to accept her choice and denounce her as his student from that point. She felt her heart break and lashed out in tears stating he didn't need him anyway. Sonya turned away and left the village out of the misty valley through the mountains passage. She promised herself to come back stronger and prove to her former master to be one of the greatest weapon masters of her century."
