Description
Up until then, it has only been a rumor. A very persistent rumor, that was. But nobody had ever encountered Anima in person and lived long enough to tell the story. The ones that did survive, only saw the blazing light of his surrounding energy from a distance. And even that was enough to leave them traumatized for life.

Nobody know exactly was it was that Anima did to those people. He killed some of them, that was for sure. And he killed many, as he made many enemy's over time. But as he continued slaughtering every single soldier that went after hem, the army generals eventually gave up. And only the scientists were left, chasing this 'illusion'. Because that was what the government deemed him to be: nothing more than an illusion. Something like a mass hysteria that made more and more people go completely mad over time.

Those scientists knew better, however. Aiden's crew has been chasing this being for months already, but without any clear results. Although the creature didn't seem to respond so aggressively to the scientists as it did to the army, it was still highly dangerous. Even many scientists had already been fallen victim to his monstrous powers, and Kiriil knew that he had to be careful.

His fellow scientist didn't want to go with him, when he suggested following this creature all the way to the abandoned Neorasa headquarters. They thought it was foolish of him to go, and maybe they were right. He was all alone now. The energy measurement equipment, he brought with him, started to show more disturbing values as he progressed walking towards the building. Which was weird, because he couldn't see a thing yet. Was the equipment lying? It was terribly dark outside. As if a storm was coming. A weird storm. And Kiriil certainly wasn't feeling that well.

As he approached the old building, it suddenly came to him. As if he instinctively knew what was coming, he looked up to the towers. He held his breath. Anima! Was it real?
Before he could realize what was happening, the creature noticed him, turned his head and looked at him. All of a sudden the place was surrounded with blue energy and the energy pressure went up like crazy. Kiriil knew that it was better to run, but for some reason he couldn't avert his eyes. Anima didn't seem to be angry, nor did he seem to be smiling. His blazing eyes didn't display any emotion at all. As if he wasn't human.

Kiriil couldn't stop looking. The dark sky tore open and a portal to what seemed to be another world appeared. A reflection of what the old headquarters seemed to be, years ago. The energy measurement equipment went out with a sudden beep, the level of energy being too high to even measure. Kiriil looked at it with fear, but knowing that it was already too late to run. His lifeless body was found by his co-workers the next morning. Although he bleed through both eyes, nose and ears, he was found with a mysterious smile on his face. He had seen something nobody else had seen yet.

Edit: Tweaked the colors a bit so the artwork could be seen at dark monitors as well.

I try to be very honest when I give feedback and I hope I'm not overstepping my boundaries.

The composition of the building and sky is very good but everything about the piece directs your eyes to look at the two towers as the focus. Yet the woman demands a lot of attention as well. I think the two are competing to be the main focus of the piece. It seems like she may have been an after thought as you were finishing up the piece.

Consider adding hue variations. Color is an absolute art monster. It's certainly one of the hardest things but adding hue variations can do a lot for an environment piece and take your work to the next level. I also find that finding an excuse to add different colors will bring about good ideas and improve your design.

Just my honest opinion
All the best to you e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/>

I love the prospective, for me it makes seem like it was the las thing that Kiriil saw before he lost his mind. The sky as well as the clouds are beautiful, I do get the feeling that a storm is brewing over the area. The shadingand lining on the building in perfect and detailed. The character has that far off type of look making him look like his mind is in another place. And the mist around him gave him that mystical/enchanted look to his surroundings. I turned up the brightness settings to get the darker details to pop out more and I couldn't believe the details that were covered by the darkness. I enjoyed the back story, it gave it that demented, dark type of feeling to it. Your art always gets me with the amount of details added. ^,^

The concept of this piece is good. I like the colors too, the blue is very saturated and adds some strength to the painting, although the contrast is a little low. Also, the architecture is good. The towers especially stand out as being drawn well.

To make this piece more interesting, it would help to increase the contrast of the blues; adding more dark and light blues to make the color seem even more alive. Also, adding blue in a different place(perhaps a dull blue flag on the building, or stronger blue highlights on the building) could work too.

For the piece to be more cinematic and have more impact, you could create a sense of scale by exaggerating the size of the towers even more compared to the person, or maybe by adding another subject to give a better idea of how big the towers are. Scale could also be suggested by adding atmosphere between the foreground and the towers in the distance. It seems like the sky is very cloudy, so it would be natural for some clouds or mist to interfere with the view.

I think this is beautiful. The story that came with the picture kind of tells you exactly what you're looking at. The details, the colors, all of it is striking. At first I kind of looked at him as a monster on the castle, but after reading it, it showed him as more of a deity figure. This is nothing but an incredible picture in my eyes, and I would imagine plenty of other people would tend to think so. The way the sky gives nothing to the picture really pulls you in towards your character and his being in the picture. Hands down an incredible job.

50 words to go: Well it is a bit sad he died. And did the crew, when they found Kiriil, yet again find no trace of what has happened? Only the poor remains of him. This is a very striking piece of work.
The architecture on the castle(?) is very detailed and intricate, yet doesn't take away any attention to your character.
I like the use of blue in the object surrounding the character and the slight blue aura surrounding him.
I feel that the light from and around the character could be a little more vibrant and eye catching though, simply to make him stand out more.
The simplistic sky contrasts well with the dark, almost silhouetted, building which i find very effective.
The perspective of the character is perfect and i like the angle that everything is on, it adds to the mysterious effect of the whole thing.

I love this piece. It gives off this ominous emotion.
One thing that I have noticed with blue light, especially, is that you can see the glow from quiet a distance. What I would have done is put gentle blue reflections along the architecture, which will not only heighten the power of the character; it will also put in the detail of the surroundings.
I always try to promote the art and also let you have your own style. This piece is very nice and the colors compliment each other and your eye is drawn to every corner of the page which is hard to find.
Just a thought e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/>

Two comments: the composition is terrific. I always like pieces that don't have the main object dead center of the canvas. Secondly, it's a great contrast between the plain color palette of the church and the atmosphere and the figure. A really strong piece you should be proud of.

I like the atmosphere in this quite a lot, it's a bit different from your usual stuff. It feels like the towers on the right and the character are competing a bit though, since those are the two points of most contrast. The vertical lines also lead me up and off the page if I look at the flow, I go from looking at the character briefly to the towers on the right and then up and off. Β I might add more blue hints throughout the piece so it's not so isolated in one area.
