Masaru didn't know why he decided to follow Sato around. Maybe it was just curiosity, or perhaps even a vague feeling of guilt that still haunted him ever since his mom died. All he knew was that he did.
"So what's next?" Masaru asked. Things quieted down significantly since the newly founded Neorasa roamed Exraion. No longer were the days that people cowered in fear for Alex Kucher. The once so powerful drugs-lord was nowhere to be found, but it was only a matter of time before they would, and they would end his reign. Masaru was certain of that.
"I don't know" Sato just stared, eyes glowing bright red from the energy that lay behind. The rain didn't even bother him. He was observing the world with his powers again, as he seemed to do a lot.
"What's after Alex?" Masaru asked. "Will there be an after?"
There were people outside. They dared to leave their houses again.
"I don't know" Sato repeated. He didn't move, just stared. "But things will change."
That winter a different sentiment filled the streets of Exraion. Not the usual fear and pessimism, but almost a kind of excitement. It was the first glimmer of optimism that the downtrodden part of the city had seen for years. No matter how bad, for many of them Neorasa meant hope.
