04. A landscape or cityscape

Chose for cityscape instead of landscape, since I already did a lot of landscape stuff back in december 2014. It still needs a lot of work, I guess. Gotta make more of those kinds of paintings

Love the dark, ominous feel to this pic and how segregated it makes the populations feel. The use of dull colours just adds to the bleakness you describe, very symbolic.

Great capture of a frightening atmosphere. I think I get this impression because of the shadowed colors and the lonelyness portrayed by only few people. For me personally it almost looks like behind the walls lurks death (although I'm certainly sure you intended to portray the opposite), those gate keepers look like some sort of Charon (the one who carries the dead across the Styx in the Greek mythology). Of course one could also draw similarities with the concentration camps of the Nazis (where the dark and creepy color palette fits perfectly and the impression I had of death behind the walls) - maybe thats just me (and also maybe because I watched "Schindler's List" some weeks before).
Nevertheless a great picture.
By the way, do I see a red spot in front of the gate keepers? Is that blood? Or did you intend to portray something else (well, it doesn't really matter, I love pictures where there are so many ways to interpret them)

Your perspective work is pretty good! (better than mine anyways, but you're inspiring me to work harder at it!) I love the way you did the scenery beyond the wall! The rain feels a little… eh? I can't really describe it, but because it's going in different directions. Uniformity helps make it feel more like rain in situations like this and you can make it point a certain direction to make the viewer's eye flow through the image. Although I do like the color and security cameras! Nice work!
