Literally saw this picture and was like"aww that's adorable!" I love how they are wearing tiny reflective jackets and the boys tiny wellie boots! and the fact they are walking on a leash! I am also not sure about the women's next actions - it feels to me like she might hook the end on to the pole and then wander off!! much like you would do with a dog when you wanted to go inside a shop!! As the photo itself i think a tighter crop would be more useful. A larger crop gives context and allows the viewers to see the background however I feel maybe cropping more of the picture to make the kiddies the focus and draw the viewers attention to them instead of being slightly distracted by the group in the background. Overall a nice whimsical piece.

Thank you very much for the critique!
I, too, was considering a closer crop when post producing the photo, but I ultimately opted for a larger one because I wanted to preserve the identifiability of the urban environment, leaving the turning car and the street clearly visible, as well as other passers by. I wanted it to be recognisable as a scene which occurred on the street: it gives it a more authentic and… hilarious feel in my opinion!

А какова няня? Такое впечатление, что привяжет к столбику, а сама - по магазинам.

Day-care goes too far...
The reflective jackets are an excellent safety measure, but I cannot approve of leashes for children; how is a child expected to learn to respond to vocal instructions if he's being led about on a rope?  Not good for development. in my view.

I totally agree! And as you can see, the lash allows the girl to totally alienate herself from her job and spend her time on the smartphone instead of taking care of the children. At first I noticed the surreal but all in all funny lash scene, but her attitude with the smartphone was what compelled me to take the picture. The scene is both funny, absurd and a bit grotesque at once.

Just to set things straight on the leashes. These are special leashes for kindergartens - a whole "train" of kids can walk on them (in which case at least two teachers accompany the children on the walk).

As far as I know, there has been a similar discussion about the leashes in Czech Republic as I can read here (including things like - if one of the kids gets hit by a car, all of them will be hurt) - and most of the child care professionals said the leash is a good thing (just in case you wonder about the possible car accident, the leash has a safety device which will disconnect the kid from the leash in case of a strong pull).

This I found to be very funny. I have seen those kid leashes before but never with a group of kids. Good photo!

Great shot-well caught. I had to laugh that the mobile phone gets a hand all to itself while the children are contain in the another!
