As far as the entertainment world is concerned, the last two weeks have given us what has probably turned out to be the worst Christmas and New Year period in living memory. Elizabeth Beresford, creator of The Wombles died on Christmas Eve. This sad event was quickly followed by the deaths of musicians Teena Marie (Motown Records), Bobby Farrell (of Boney M), Bernard Wilson (of Harold Melvin's Blue Notes), Mick Karn (of 80's pop band Japan), Gerry Rafferty, actor Pete Postlethwaite and now writer Dick King-Smith, who wrote 'The Sheep-Pig' (later filmed as 'Babe') and also created the hilarious 'Foxbusters'.If things carry on at this rate there aren't going to be any creative people left!

Gosh - I didn't know Dick King-Smith had died. That's sad. He seemed like one of those authors that was going to be around for ages more.

Fox hunting is banned here in the UK, but the current government seem Hell-bent on bringing it back. The Foxbusters is about a bunch of chickens defending their farm against fox attacks. The foxes are the underdogs in the story, but it also has to be said that they are the stars!

I see you went with the Cosgrove Hall publication of this book. Wow, the start of the new year this year was no better for you then last year it seems and after all the decent stuff you did over Christmas, you would think something good will come out of it all wouldn't you? Perhaps I should contact Mike Jupp and tell him to encase his home (and his work shed) in a huge plastic bubble to protect himself.

I just scanned in the front cover of the book that I have. I haven't drawn up any pictures myself of the characters, and the only decent online picture was by Keenfox (and I didn't wish to nick his artwork), so I used what was quickly to hand to grab attention.

Fair enough. This is probably going to be the best rendition of the Foxbusters anyway and yeah Keenfox's pics of the show was the best fanart of Foxbusters I saw.
