PLEASE FULLVIEW!Another one of those requests finished! This time, it was a request from , who was kind enough to give me a premium account without me asking at all. Thanks very much, man!
Anyways, the request was based on this idea: Caramel has always wanted to be with Applejack, but before he has the chance to say anything, she falls for someone else. Devoid of hope, Caramel decides to end it all. That thing he's holding is meant to be a framed picture, most likely of himself and Applejack in happier times. The things on the table are a bottle of liquor, a shot glass, and a revolver.
One of the darkest ideas I've worked with outside of grimdark fanfictions, I'll say that much.
Hoooo, boy. This picture did not want to be drawn. I had to re-do it about three times before I finally got the pose I wanted, and then I had to re-do it once more when I spilled my coffee on the picture. But I finally managed to finish it, and I think it's okay.

There may be only one Applejack but there is only one Caramel........wow that sounded horrible! Anyways you cant kill yourself because of Applejack. How do you think se will feel when she finds out that you committed suicide over her? She would be broken knowing that she was the cause of your death. You cant make her change her mind but at least be glad that she found someone she can be happy with. Suicide is a selfish and cowardly way out you have to be accepting of what happens to truly be happy. I'm sure you will find happiness but just because it's not in her doesn't mean you have to throw everything away. Please...continue living. For her and everyone else in your life. All you have to do is live and one day you will find the one who will make you happy.

Hey, sorry this isn't really related to this picture, but didn't Warhammer 40K originate the term "grimdark"? I've been trying to figure out where it came from since I see a lot of people on deviantART using that term, and I'm pretty sure the term was first used to describe the Warhammer 40K setting.

I really have no idea. XD I like Warhammer's design and I know a little bit about the "God Emperor", but other than that I'm clueless. I honestly thought that the word "grimdark" was a brony invention up til now. XD

Yeah it is from Warhammer 40K, I just looked it up...it's a reference to the series' slogan "in the grim darkness of the far future there is only war." But bronies seem to use the term a lot to describe dark or mature MLP fanart or fan fiction. Which makes sense, I guess, since there seems to be a lot of overlap between the MLP fandom and the Warhammer 40K fandom.
I used to love playing Warhammer 40K with my stepdad back in 2000 or so, when I was a kid. This was back when it was a tabletop wargame with actual playing pieces and miniatures, before Dawn of War was released, which I have on my computer. I wanna get the newer Dawn of War games as well eventually, but my desktop computer's ESC key is broken and doesn't work due to a driver issue, for some frustrating reason.

Yeah, I'm not really a fan of it either - I'm more of an AppleDash fan myself - but the idea really got stuck in my head while I was drawing it. It was kind of creepy actually.

Well, I was going to have it be Rainbow Dash (I'm a big AppleDash fan), but the person who requested the picture isn't a fan of yuri, so I decided to leave that part open. It's ultimately up to the viewer to guess who it was. (And that way, I don't get flamed for "inappropriate shipping". XD)

I recognize the second verse, I've always thought that was a pretty neat poem since I first saw it. The first verse is new, yes? Whether it is or isn't I still think it's pretty cool.

the generic chorus came from an old british song (around 1700's), i just changed it a little to fit the MLP style.
the original is:
"over the hills and o'er the main
to Flanders, Portugal and Spain
queen Anne commands and we obey
over the hills and far away"
in the 1990's, John Tams edited the chorus for the Sharpe series, and that's where i found it. that version is
"o'er the hills and o'er the main
through Flanders, Portugal and Spain
king George commands and we obey
over the hills and far away"

Anyway, yes, the picture is beautiful! The revolver could be better, and if the picture frame was just slightly tilted it would be easier to tell what it was, but other than that, this is an absolute beauty! nice work! really like it!
