Description I've been wanting to try my hand at wearable objects, and this shoe is my first attempt at it.

the main focus was to see how the material would react to being painted, so I have used reference pictures rather than make my own designs this time

love it, what kind of paint did you use?

acrylic I painted the shoe first so the final coating wouldn't bleed into the canvas

nice use of space! acrylic? i try to use a very light body, usually mixing with acrylic inks, so the paint won't crack as it ages and bends. acrylic ink can be used on it's own, but it bleeds arcoss the shoe VERY EASILY. have fun!

Thank you it is acrylic yes, but I painted the entire shoe first before starting the illustrations (after noticing the bleeding on the other shoe). Thank you for the information, I'll be sure to try out your method in the future

a light coating of clear gesso might help you too. it'll look milky on anything you don't paint, but it makes the paint go a lot farther, and it won't bleed.

clear gesso...thanks, I'll try and see if I can get a hold of some
Do you happen to have any experience with painting fake leather? I'm working on that right now, does it crack easily over time?

nope, done real leather but that's it. that was years ago too. just used paint pens and sharpies, and they didn't crack.

I like this, the picture seems to be 'clean', and you've done great job painting it. I'd by shoes like this if I saw them in the store :]
