Comments:This is a flat color/design commission of ~Cinnebar 's ki'lin character, Pavit in his feral form. Ki'lin are fairly similar to kirin, and it was requested for this particular character to be portrayed with the body of a deer, dragon-esque head, hooves of a horse, and tail of an oryx with scales all over. Definitely not what either of us pictured going into it, but I think we're both pretty pleased with the results! His body has a slight iridescent sheen to it, inspired by the shine seen on rainbow boas. (example: [link] )

this really looks awesome lol like a plausible/possible version of the Qiin/Kilin (which is actually the same thing as a kirin, just the japanese don't have L's, so they replaced it with an R)

Thanks! I've actually heard there are different depictions of the different spellings/regional pronunciations but I'm definitely not any expert...just went with what seemed to fit.

it's all the same thing just about, ki'lin, qui'lin, kirin. there are slight differences between the japanese and chinese versions but they're pretty much the same. you did a good job

i LOVE what you did tying the dragon-esque throatlatch into the rest of the body.. this is awesome! idk how you managed to make those species seem so 'convincing' together HAHA
