Design is amazing, all the drawing is great. What i don't like (thou i understand it's meant to touch that delicate string inside ppl's hearts) is the idea of gun pointed in pregnant woman. Maybe becouse a year ago i became father, so i'm a bit touchy at this point

I love the expressions on their faces, filled with passion and a sense of longing tinged with sadness. And yet, I fully expect him to pull the trigger.

I don't know, but it's like an acrylic adrenaline rush, or maybe that moment right before the action, where time stands still.

It's so nice, well done. There's something in the painting that reminds me the drawing of Klimt named "the kiss". Maybe the dress of the gir or the composition or maybe... mmmm I really don't know, but i really like your painting.

this is the first of a series of paintings that are going to be inspired by other artists and pieces I love. and this was was definitely inspired by 'the kiss' and 'hope II'. good eye, and thanks for the kind words

Nice piece, I really enjoy the color palette. The Klimt comparisons are obvious, but I see a lot of Duncan Fegredo in this too. Reminiscent of the style he would use on Shade the Changing Man covers.

There's a trade of Vertigo covers out there, you should check it out. It has most of the STCM covers in there.
Fegredo is a tremendous artist, criminally underrated by the average fan. Its great to hear he's going to be drawing another Hellboy mini, because the first one was beautifully drawn.

I actually I did this for the book i'm working on with Jai Nitz. from what I understand, a certain piece of art will play prominently through the book so I wanted to do a series of covers that would incorporate art and artists that I love.
so in this one i fell short of klimt and in the future I would like to fall short of vermeer, or jmw turner but we will see.
it's alot of fun to really examine some of my favorite artists and their work, it's also really humbling.

yeah, that dress really reminds me of some klimt stuff. great work, as usual. i really like how the orange/ yellow turns more to a yellow/ white behind the two heads.
