Description This page has never seen publication, posting, or even lettering since I drew it last October.  The story it's for has stalled into obsolescence, but I still kind of like it. 

The film on the screen is 1963's JUDEX, which featured an updated version of France's original costumed mystery man -- anonymously wrecking havoc on men whose greed destroyed communities and futures. In this famous scene, Judex preforms magic tricks at a masquerade ball. In the last panel, drawn from a frame taken from the film without alteration, one of Judex's birds casts a familiar shadow on the velvet curtains.
