Description

The stress, the anxiety , the fear growing up inside everyone mind consume you little by little... Natacha did a mistake today, she was too stressed, unable to focus, it went so fast, the stall, the spin ,the sky turning around her very fast, the indistict shouting voice in the headphones.

As she was feelt the panic rising, she closed her eyes and repeated mechanically the procedure to get out of the spin. After few seconds that seemed like an eternity she took control back, but she was too low, way too low...Β  As she could hear the noise of the tree tops on the wings the entire plane shook very hard, if it was not for her seat belt she would have been tossed like a ragdoll to every side of the cockpit. A loud noise of crushed metal echoed in the forest, bounced on trees and faded in the wilderness.

As Natacha started to realize what happened she was sitting on a log. How did she survived such crash ? how did she managed to get out of the cockpit ?

" I guess today is not the day I die..."

As the thought reached her mind, a chill went down her spineΒ  she is entirely trembling, she is in shock.

Today she outlived her mistake, but what about next time ?

This reminds me of one of Thomas Sopwith's anecdotes from his interview in 1984. Back in the very early 1900s he was testing an aircraft design in England when he made a forced landing in a farmer's potato field. The farmer--who was working in said field a short distance away--rose to his feet, stared at him for a minute...then without a word, turned around and went right back to his potatoes. O_o

Trying to imagine the awkwardness of such situation bring a small grin to my face ^^
Maybe I will try to sketch that

Agreed. Things could have been far worse. Planes can be rebuilt. Pilots are difficult to replace.

Indeed... To me, if something goes wrong, it’s not worth the risk of trying to crash land or save the plane. If you’re high enough, just bail out...
