Well I haven't read it since I was little - and a lot of the humour is very topical so we non-Americans don't get it

When I saw the first few skits of this on the "MAD" show, I appreciated it for the way it looked and acted-- like a 1930s cartoon.
When I realized that they appeared in every episode, it was easy for me to tell that they were really part of the magazine (especially since there are visible dots on the background at times).
Now, I'm in love with this.
