Description The alternate title would be "Fern with Texture." I took this because of the waxy feel of the leaves. I didn't originally intend to submit it, but I like the photo more every time I look at it. Besides, I'm going to offer it as a puzzle. With all of the detail, I think this would be a tricky one to put together.

Ah, but I appreciate it. The texture is why I took the photo.

Glad you submitted this one, love it! Sometimes what seems the simplest shot turns out to be the best. Good eye!

Thanks, Kimberly. I had just finished taking about 300 photos of a rather cooperative lizard (one of the Anolis sagrei I submitted, in fact). The texture of the fern struck me.

No problem. I've always been attracted to photos like this one, My art instructors always said I had an eye for detail, and tended to get lost in them and lose sight of the whole - not always a bad thing in my opinion. Just my style I guess.

With the contrast of this, it looks sharp enough to cut someone. Good job!
