Well people never thought that Rome would fall either... Anyway, my feelings about the picture would be more like a bit of defiance in the middle of darkness. Just my way of looking at things.

there's a strange message that seems to come from this... the predominant darkness; the ominous clouds. and in the centre you have the american flag - shorter than surrounding trees... this seems to tell of the falling of a nation.
