Description I have begun my decent into the world of Kitsune. However, it is the world of myth that I am looking into. This is also part of a project where I wanted to playing out some ideas before I seal the deal on something of a larger scale.

This is a play on the male/female aspect of Kitsune, especially the ones that protect temples.

The shape of the kitsune really works well for the yin yang. I think the kitsune would stand out more (particularly the white one) if you used a different background color inside the circle. Maybe a blue, or a red to connect to the nice touch of color in the middle. Also, not really necessary, but it might be more yin-yang-y if the black kitsune had a white eye, to play off the white kitsune having a black eye. You might also consider making the belly fur on the white kitsune black, to play off the white belly fur of the black kitsune, or to make the legs of the black kitsune white, to play off the black legs of the white kitsune. I know nothing of the myths, but I am just offering suggestions design-wise.

Yeah, I had considered doing a black belly on the white kitsune, but it didn't seem right at the time. And the white legs, I had intended to do so, but my marker slipped and suddenly, I had black legs on both.

Thank you for the suggestions. I rarely goes those anymore.I may play with these when I do some editing in Photoshop.

Ah, I understand about the marker slipping. I've also needed to change things to black in order to disguise mistakes and malfunctions, heh.

I'm not positive about the black belly idea, but, yeah, if you play around in Photoshop, you can see and decide more clearly if it looks good or not.

What are you reference books for the myths regarding them and temples? I'm on a big tear about Japanese Mythology, and am eating up every book I can come up with...

Well, there is one. But the only way I was able to get ahold of it was through PDF. Kitsune by Kiyoshi Nozaki. Plus my roommate imparted on me some stuff, especially the information that was used in this piece.
