Oleander

When Oleander first heard of this week's task, he'd nearly had a nervous fit. He wasn't particularly good at showing off his talents - that is to say, if he tried to show anyone something he was even remotely good at he'd freeze and end up embarrassing himself. After the events last week at the dojo however, Oleander found himself feeling a bit more confident and steeled himself for today's lesson. When he thought about what talents he possessed, it came down to two things: singing and knitting. Ultimately, after much deliberation, he had decided that knitting was the safer option of the two. And so, he snuck a ball of navy blue yarn and knitting needles out from the nook's crafting room.
As the wynglings started pairing off, Oleander soon found himself without a partner. Though much to his relief, he wasn't the only one with that problem and all those remaining ended up forming a small group. Oleander sat cross-legged on the pristine wooden floor and observed the others sitting in a circle around him. One had brought some paper and pencil and had already begun drawing vigorously, while another held a small wooden instrument which Oleander did not know the name of. At this point, none of the students had really said anything beyond a bare bone greeting to one another and simply just started doing whatever it was they were intending to show off. Not much of a teaching session, but fun nonetheless.
Oleander picked up his needles and concentrated on getting his own little project started. He'd decided to make a scarf; it was simple and something he'd become good at making during the hours spent at the nook. He kept his gaze lowered, twitching his ears every so often when he heard something interesting among the idle chatter in the background. As the minutes ticked by, Oleander eventually became so engrossed in his activity that he'd forgotten where he was, the purpose of the lesson entirely lost to him, and began humming happily to himself. This drew the attention of the other wynglings in the group, but he didn't really notice and simply kept knitting.
After an hour or so, Oleander held the navy blue scarf out in front of him and admired his craftsmanship. It felt soft and was of a decent length, tightly knit. Not bad at all. Maybe he could give it to Kun or Suvash as a gift to thank them later.
