Description Alright, the title is lame.. but this is a stand-alone piece and hence I never thought of a name for it.

This is a little design I drew for my web layout. That is also why I chose those colors. I wanted a big contrast against a black background.
Looking at it now I really like the colors.
As for the design itself.. it's a bit flapper inspired (though that happened unintentionally). Sparkly rhinestones for effects, knife pleats layered for the skirt part.

The entire design was first sketched, then scanned and then entirely rebuilt in Illustrator.
Hope you enjoy

Watermarked because I really want to use it just for my own page and not see it somewhere else.

Thanks for the flattering comment!
Illustrator is my favorite program ever.. I like it even better than Photoshop..and that's saying something in my case
I found my love for it during my training as a web designer and found that it's great for fashion too.
It's actually all about patience and playing around a little.. I'm sure you could do it too with some practice

It's got a ton of personality! I love the colours and the silhouette is darling.

Personally not something I would wear but super cute design. I love the neckline.

I really need to get my Mac set up to do digital work again. I miss it and this just reminds me of that.

Thank you for the sweet comment

I'm glad you like it! It was something that had a life of it's own and evolved as I was drawing (was supposed to be a loose shirt and wide pants in the beginning! )
I wouldn't wear it either actually but I think it's a fun concept to look at..and probably would be fun to sew too

I know how it feels.. I have been avoiding digital work for some time since it's so time consuming, but when I get into it again it's a lot of fun and the results are always nice (I learned web design before switching to fashion )

I was a drama major. In truth I've never studied design formally. My mom has taught me everything I know.

I played around with design (both stage and costume) as a part of my degree.

The funny part is I'm working in accounting now

Oh wow..that sounds very interesting! I always had an interest in drama myself. I imagine it was very interesting to study

I think it's very nice when your family passes something like this on. It's such a bonding experience I believe, and along with knowledge, the passion for the craft.

Wow.. accounting sure is entirely different! Do you enjoy accounting? I can imagine it's nice when you can have a hobby like sewing as a balance to the accounting.

Accounting isn't actually a boring as everyone makes it out to be. There is alot of problem solving involved that keeps my mind busy. Besides I make a bit of extra money by offering my services as a tailor to my coworkers.

Sewing, knitting and drawing are a needed hobby though with a completely anaylitical job.

I did have accounting in school and actually I quite liked it (but not enough to be wanting to work in that field )

What a great way to earn something extra by offering your tailoring services to your coworkers!..I can imagine your coworkers really enjoy having you there!
