Thank you for this critique! I have to agree with you, his room is way too clean! This will be a good excuse to work a little harder on my backgrounds. In some cases the more details the better. I tried to merge the vibe of animated show with the live action movie. I did another merger of the two recently with some rough sketches (mostly the lower bottom one): [link] . Strange I never thought of Holmes as a red fox, but it would fit him since he is "as clever as a fox"! While watching the show I did wonder why the characters were never drawn with tails. I guess the creator(s) thought it would have been an distraction? Don't know. So while drawing this I just stuck with the original design.

I can't get over how well you got their personalities down here. Sherlock better make sure he quits shooting those narcotics though. Though brilliant, his poor mind is already frazzled as it is.

I did a very looong time ago. I remember only bit and pieces of it. One scene in particular, Basal and the other characters (whose names escape me) were in a balloon near a clock tower (Big Ben) and the main villain, who is a giant rat, was attacking them (he scared the pants off me as kid). I'll probably should youtube it soon.

You can see if the have it at the library. That way, you don't have to deal with youtube breaking it up into segments.

And to think I drew this before actually seeing the movie and was only going by preview photos! I do plan on seeing the movie again before it leaves the theater. However hunting down Sherlock Hound DVDs have been a pain with not much success.

Yeah I recommend you check this show out. Plus I'm a huge Miyazaki fan which is another reason I like it! Coming across this show has re-spark my interest in Anthro art again. I just wish they made more shows like this. It really reminds me of Disney afternoon cartoons from back in the day.

Sounds cool! It does sound like something I'll instantly love, since I've always liked those kinds of shows, too heh. Miyazaki is the same guy who created Totoro, right? That's another plus there!
And definitely, we'll miss the fun Disney afternoon classics! Geez, that suddenly made me think about Toon Disney, from the late 90's/early 2000s, where they showed all of those old Disney shows. Now it's Disney XD, heh.
