Late response but I think you should try incorporating both of them. I feel that left is better because you can see the girl a lot more easily but the right one has a better background.

well i would say ...which does get the idea better?
the L makes me think on something sad,dark,on a loner, a person who is lost...because she is white she stand out and that caught my eye no doubt
and the R well its beautiful if i had to pick ..yes i would pick R.. why well because its blue,it looks like she plays with water(yes i do know both pictures have a fish in it), she is in a dream,an illusion a peaceful and playful place. This time her eyes dont look so sad to me they look like she is just so glad, that she has freed her mind =3
i like the idea of putting them together somehow because i would like to make her brighter and stand out more, but on the other hand ...no each side is a picture for itself i bet if you put them together no side can show its full potential ~

If you put the details in the space around her, then the right one would've been better :3
