Alarms were ringing throughout Purple Vixen's lair and the sounds of running feet could be heard in every corridor as LILAC troops spread out, searching for an intruder. The discovery of a few knocked out sentries had alerted Security to the threat, but none of the dozens of security cameras had picked up any sign of what the intruder might look like. Purple Vixen monitored the activity from the safety of her chambers, which were automatically placed under lockdown. Steel plates slid down each door and window. No one could get in and no one could get out without clearance from Security. Whatever else might happen, Purple Vixen would be safe. As Vixen leaned over her computer screen, her nervousness diminished. "Probably another pathetic attempt to infiltrate my lair," Purple Vixen sighed. "They have everything under control. I think I'll throw a little cold water on my face and get ready for bed." Purple Vixen turned away from the desk and as she did, a masked ninja-like figure was flying through the air at her, boots first. "Whaaaa ...!" UUUUNNNGGGGHHH Purple Vixen dropped to the ground out cold from the mysterious ninja's dropkick. The ninja wasted no time tying Purple Vixen up by her wrists and ankles. As she did, Purple vixen came to and immediately began screaming. "SHE'S HERE! THE INTRUDER IS HERE! COME AND HELP ME! SHE'S HERE!" There was no one in a position to hear, since the steel plates made her chambers essentially soundproof. "Tut, tut, Vixen! You really are a coward. And a shrill bitch to boot! Why don't you shut your mouth and things will go a lot better for you." the ninja explained through her red mask. But Purple Vixen continued screaming and shouting, trying to get the attention of her guards. "You leave me no choice, Vixen!" the ninja said with some exasperation. She took out a hand grenade. Purple Vixen looked at it and gulped hard, as she opened her mouth to scream again. But the ninja did not allow another peep to come from her mouth, instead jamming the grenade right between her teeth. "There! That will keep your pie hole shut! I told you it didn't have to be this way! But you've made your own bed, Vixen. Now you're going to lie in it. So, just wait for the 'BANG' and you'll know it's all over!" Purple Vixen jumped a little when the ninja said 'BANG,' but was trying to speak to the ninja in muffled, but whimpering tones. "That's all right, Purple Vixen, I can let myself out. I found a way in after all." She chuckled and then in a whisp of smoke ... she was gone! Meanwhile, Purple Vixen was cross-eyed as she stared at the grenade in her mouth, squirming and rolling as she desperately tried to find a way to get herself out of this predicament.

I must say, in 's masterful treatment of the theme of heroine/villainess peril, I don't think I have ever seen a scene as perilous as this one! Many thanks to him for this awesome contribution to the Purple Vixen oeuvre. I think if we offer some nice comments and appreciation, he will make a follow up drawing to show us what happens next!
